COLE here and I'm a 3+ year old Boxer boy.  The vet said that I was very sweet and my Foster Dad says that I am very sweet as well.  He has me crate trained and potty trained and I'm learning more commands.  

As a Boxer, I'm an intelligent, high-energy, playful dog that likes to stay busy. I love to be in the company of my people and my other dog friends.  As a Boxer, I have a high need for companionship and exercise. Boxers are ideal for people who want a canine companion with them most of the time or for larger busy families with homes that are often occupied by someone. They can do well on a country estate or in a city apartment as long as they have the opportunity to romp and expel energy. If you live in an urban area, regular walks are necessary.

Remember, that we Boxers are intolerant of hot weather, and care must be taken to prevent us from getting overheated in this Texas Summer.

Like children, Boxers need to be constantly entertained. If not engaged in physical activity, they should have plenty of mental stimulation as well. Plenty of chew toys will keep them busy throughout the day.

Like the Peter Pan of children's stories, the Boxers are eternal kids and take direction about as well as any adolescent child. Training should be consistent, and leadership should be shown with confidence. Boxers will take advantage of anyone who gives them even the slightest bit of leeway. Positive reinforcement and treats are the best method for training this breed.
