Hello! I’m Dollie, a sweet, tiny, young, Boxer girl, and I’m very happy to meet you. I’d like to take a minute to tell you how I ended up here, but before I do that I want to address the obvious. I’m a very small girl, some might even call me a mini boxer, or a “pocket boxer”. And yes, although I’m small, I am all boxer! What I lack in size, I make up for in my heart and wiggle butting abilities! Alright, now that that’s out of the way, on to my story!
One morning, not too long ago, I was laying in front of a stranger’s garage door. I hoped the people inside would be nice and let me inside because I was cold, sad, and really really hungry. I’m not sure how long I sat there, but the garage door finally opened. I was so excited! I ran inside the garage and greeted the people with all of the excitement and wiggle butt I could muster.
I was very lucky that I picked that garage door to curl up in front of, because the people inside were really nice. They let me come all of the way inside the house and they gave me something to eat. Once I was inside they could see that I had recently had puppies and that my body was still making milk for them. They took me out on a leash and we searched and searched for my pups but I’m sad to say we couldn’t find them. This broke my heart because I loved them so very much and wanted to be a good mom and take care of them. I hope wherever they are they are happy and healthy. Sorry, I digressed. It’s just so hard to think about my pups.
Okay, back to the story about how I joined the HBR family. So after searching for both my pups and my family and coming up empty handed the nice people who were taking care of me contacted HBR and asked if they would help me find a new family. One that would take care of me better and love me always. Thankfully, HBR had one foster spot open (they are always looking for foster homes so they can save more Boxers like me) and I was able to go and stay in that open foster home.
Now I’m happy to say that things are looking up and I’ve been doing really well. I went to the vet to get spayed (so I would never lose any pups again), got something called a microchip, and found out that I’m a very healthy young lady! I’ve moved into my foster home. They have lots of dog toys and dog beds around. The best part about it though, is that I have two human foster siblings to play with and two foster fur siblings to play with. It’s a non stop play fest here! And I love it! I love to play with the kids, chase bouncy balls, and play tug of war.
Since being in my foster home, I’m proud to say that I have NOT had one single accident inside the house. I’m a good girl, and I know how to go potty outside. I also now how to sleep in a kennel at night, and I know how to sit for a treat! My foster mom says I’m a very smart girl! I love to please my humans and plan to keep doing that all of my life.
Well, that’s it. Now you know everything about me. Now it’s your turn. Will you please tell me all about you by filling out an adoption application?
