That means we can save more dogs! On top of that, PetCo just cut us a check to aid with Operating Support for $2,000.00! This gift enabled HBR to pay medical fees on several dogs! Please shop PetCo, and when you do, thank them for their commitment to saving animals!
EXCEDED DONATION GOAL! -- Friday January 1st, 2010
We set $30,000.00 as our goal for straight donations in 2009. Because of loyal individual supporters, which includes our own volunteers, HBR exceded it's goal by $4,000.00!
It is largely because of all our compassionate friends, that HBR was able to save 98 dogs from unnecessary death!
Thank you for making our rescue dogs recipients of your giving! We hope you continue to entrust us with funds enabling HBR to pull dogs off death row, accept strays, and embrace owner surrenders who want insurance their companions find qualified homes.
Sad to say, there is a continued steady flow of displaced boxers. Please keep us open and running throughout 2010!
With Gratitude,
The HBR Volunteers

http://www.wsutoday.wsu.edu/pages/publications.asp?Action=Detail&PublicationID=14446&TypeID=1
This is HUGE news to the boxer world! Now reputable boxer breeders have a way to identify the gene for Boxer Cardiomyopathy and can exclude boxers carrying the gene, from their breeding stock!
HBR hopes you will support boxer rescue, but if you buy a dog, please ask if all health testing was performed on the breeding stock! And now you can ask if the test for cardiomyopathy was performed as well!
