I am a 2 year old female Boxer and my foster Mom says I am the sweetest Boxer she has ever met...and that is saying alot as I think she has met like 200 Boxers! I am a people dog...I love my people. I'll just admit it...I'm a big cuddler! I will want to be your constant companion. Whether you are working in the house, watching TV, or going somewhere in the car, I want to be right there by your side. I'll sit next to your chair or sit on the couch with you.
I am on the smaller side at 50 pounds and I am a very gentle girl. I do not jump up and I only bark at strangers. My foster Mom had 20 humans over for the holiday and I graciously greeted each one at the door and welcomed them to the house. I mingled with everyone to make sure that I got plenty of pets, but I did not beg at the table. Even with toddlers, I was a very sweet and gentle girl. And before I forget I want to mention I absolutely LOVE riding in the car! Every potty time I stop at the driveway just in case we might be going for a spin. I don't care where we go, it is all about the thrill of the ride!
I am potty trained and I am crate trained...just point at my bed and tell me to go to bed and I get right in! All I need now is YOU! I walk well on a leash and I know the commands SIT and NO. I'm ready for a home where I will be loved and kept safe and warm.
It seems everyone wants to know what happened with my eye. Here is the story. When I came to HBR, I was blind in my left eye due to neglect. During my first examination at the vet, it was discovered I also had glaucoma...and there was lots of pressure behind the eye, making its removal the best healthwise decision. There is no pain. So! Now I'm Peg the one eyed boxer! Having only one eye does not bother me as I had been blind in the other eye for a long time. My foster Mom calls me Peg Leg...as if I were a pirate...isn't that cute! And like a pirate who you know must have great navigational skills, I get around just fine with one eye. Once you get to know me, you'll never even notice. Maybe I need a patch? I think that might be my next fashion statement!
